A Most Peculiar Wintry Thing

Commissioned and produced by Music Network and The Ark and was originally funded by The Arts Council/An Chomharle Ealaion.

For small ensemble and live animation.

As the nights draw in and the days get colder, a rolling snowball of four wondrous musicians and some light fingered animation explores the magic draw, mystery, frustration and fun all things Wintry. Those giant wooly jumpers your granny always knit, the maverick “Abominable Snowman” who is just misunderstood and heaps of tangled Christmas tree lights all become the subject of this wonderful, dynamic show for children and grown ups of all ages.

**** Four Stars. Numbers such as Ice Maiden match the mystery of Yuletide celebration with magical melodies, while songs such as My Christmas Lights Are Tangled pair the chaos of Christmas preparations with more complex atonal noise.
The Irish Times

“Some of the most exhilarating and imaginative music you’ll ever hope to hear – musical play in the highest sense: exuberant, spontaneous and irresistibly alive”
