Constellations of Noise | The Engaged Composer Symposium

The Engaged Composer Symposium interrogates community-driven practice and explores the exhilarating possibilities that lie in collaborative creation.

Cultra Manor, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum

Friday 10 & Saturday 11 March

Bookings closed

An open two-day event aimed at sharing and elevating the practices of music co-creation and collaboration with communities and people from all dimensions of society. Part of the Our Place in Space music programme, in partnership with Dumbworld and Ulster University.

Over two days, eight of the UK and Ireland’s most experienced and inspirational composers/practitioners share their insights and experience in collaborating and co-creating work with a broad range of demographics and communities.

A series of workshops and seminars will illuminate the depth, energy, colour and brilliance of their practice as they share personal methodologies, specialisms, structures, artistic objectives and techniques to enable exhilarating and fresh contemporary music to be formed.

Both days have morning and afternoon sessions. We warmly invite anyone who is interested in developing their knowledge, understanding, or practice in relation to collaborative community creation to attend any or all of the sessions over the two days.

Come and join us at the beautiful setting of Cultra Manor for what will be a few days of deeply inspiring exchanges.
